PENTA Scanner Block
A reliable document scanner suitable for desktop installation or as an independent complete solution with integrated computer.
The PENTA Scanner Block is the perfect solution for reliable identity verification. It features proven OCR technology and captures data from the Machine-Readable Zone (MRZ) and Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ) of ID cards, passports and driving licenses. An optional barcode reader can be added to the basic equipment to read barcodes from paper, smartphones, or tablets. The PENTA Scanner Block is available in two versions: a standard device for installation on the counter and a version with an integrated PC as a stand-alone terminal. Both versions take up little space. Both the standard version and the version with integrated PC require minimal space. As a stand-alone solution with PC, the PENTA Scanner Block easily fits into confined work environments and is therefore also suitable for narrow counters and reception areas. The OEM model can be integrated into even the smallest kiosks and counters.

Different light sources
By default, the device is equipped to work with visible and infrared light. An optional UV light source allows reliable and complete ID verification by revealing “hidden” document security features.
OCR technology
As a standard feature, the device works with OCR for optical character recognition and reliably reads all data from the Machine Readable and Visual Zone (MRZ).
Barcode reader
1D and 2D barcodes can be read either from paper or from digital displays, for example on smartphones.
RFID
In order to read RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips on biometric passes, an RFID module can be integrated.
